White Pines Hat

Posted by Lis Barsuglia-Madsen on

One of my classic patterns. Worked it more than 25 years ago in Icelandic Lopi yarn. I had many complain about the yarn itching. Since then I have adopted the pattern to our SW Merino - Bulky yarn. This yarn doesn't seem to bother anyone. It is so soft. Plus warm mainly due to the 3 layers of Merino by the ears where you need the warmth the most. This is among my warmest hat patterns.

You can use any back ground for the White Pines - I mostly go between Cedar and Evergreens for the pines, but sometimes I work the pines in natural - sometimes they are totally covered in snow back here in the woods.

Have fun and create your own version.

Happy Knitting!

Lis
