Onion Dome Cable Hat Pattern

Been meaning to update some of my Cable Hat patterns. Yesterday I posted the Cables - Bulky Pattern, which is a great hat for someone just learning cables. It is in Bulky yarn on large needles and quick to work up. When I was a kid my dad gave me a wooden box from Russia it had colorful Onion Domes burned onto the top of the lid. Amazing Winter!

This winter has been absolutely the best. Lots of snow. It has been years since we have been able to get out on our XC skies as many days in a row as this winter. Textured Hat

Been meaning to work up a textured hat pattern, finally got around to it. I started with the Merino DK Singles, as I have several "leftover" balls laying around.  I love my leftovers. Memory & Though are Odin's 2 Ravens. They are also known as Hugin & Mugin.

I've placed the Sun Wheel between each of the 4 sets of Ravens. Plus the Norwegian

Fana Stars below. A true Scandinavian Sweater.

Entire sweater is worked in the DK Sock yarn, so it should be a long lasting sweater for years to come.

You could do sections of this sweater or replace the motifs with something different, as long as your numbers add up.

Have Fun!

Have been busy knitting up our Cable Brim Hats (pattern #351) in our new DK Sock yarn. They are coming up nice and soft. Photo shows the Cable Brim Hat in our Chicadee Color Way. Love the Chicadees, they always seem so happy. They follow us around in the woods, when we go for our walks. Reminding us winter is ALMOST over.
