Onion Dome Cable Hat Pattern
Posted by Lis Barsuglia-Madsen on
Been meaning to update some of my Cable Hat patterns. Yesterday I posted the Cables - Bulky Pattern, which is a great hat for someone just learning cables. It is in Bulky yarn on large needles and quick to work up. When I was a kid my dad gave me a wooden box from Russia it had colorful Onion Domes burned onto the top of the lid. Years ago I used that as inspiration for a hat in Aran weight. I was looking at the box the other day and thought the pattern would be perfect for Bulky weight yarn....

Honey Comb Hat in Fingering
Posted by Lis Barsuglia-Madsen on
Love those "left overs". I had lots of leftovers from the Ahmic Lake Pullover sweaters I have been knitting. So what to do with the leftovers..... Here is one hat it is pattern 2200 - Honey Comb Hat in Fingering. It is available FREE with any Fingering yarn purchase or $5 if you happen to have a lot of "left overs" laying around. This hat in the hand dyed Vine only weights 1.5 oz. So you would be able to make multiple hats with 2 skeins. I used US size 1.5 (2.5 mm) & US size 2.5 (3 mm). As...

Norrland in Blue Face Leicester Fingering
Posted by Lis Barsuglia-Madsen on
We are still in the midst of winter. Next week we may have a taste of Spring! I am having way too much fun working up the Norrland Hat Pattern by Sara Burch. I am knitting them in our BFL Fingering yarn. I am on hat #3 from the same 2 skeins in the same color combination. The sky is the limit on this one. I can see working it in Summer or Fall colors too... Happy Almost Spring! Lis

Textured Hat
Posted by Lis Barsuglia-Madsen on
Been meaning to work up a textured hat pattern, finally got around to it. I started with the Merino DK Singles, as I have several "leftover" balls laying around. I love my leftovers. I get tired of working stranded work, so figured this would be something different and fun to do. The sky is the limit, the possibilities are infinite. This hat "hugs" your head comfortably. Plus it can easily be adjusted to multiple head sizes, but adjusting the rib height or changing needle sizes. As always feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Stay cool!...
