Pattern - Sweater - Basic Pullover in Sport - 2508
This Pattern is written specifically for any Sport Weight yarn.
Bust/Chest Size: 36-38" (91-97cm) only.
A - Bust Chest: 36-38”
B - Center front: 21”
C - Center back: 23”
D - Under arm till bottom of Pullover: 13”
E - Cuff to under arm: 15 1/2-16”
F - Around upper arm: 15”
G - Around Cuff: 7” - THESE MEASUREMENTS ARE WITH ICORD BIND OFF. Note: Would be: 8” if you bind off in pattern.
Materials in sport weight yarns for regular, comfortable-ease pullover sizes 32-40” Bust/Chest:
1400-1600 yards (1300-1500m).
I used 1300 yards (1200m) for one in the photos.
US Size 2 (2.75mm) & US Size 4 (3.5mm) DP (double pointed) Knitting Needles for sleeves or 2 circular 16” Knitting Needles.
US Size 2 (2.75mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 16” (40 cm) length for the collar & 24” (60 cm) or 32” (80 cm) for bottom edge border.
US Size 4 (3.5mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 24” (60 cm) length for the body, 16” (40 cm) to cast on for collar if you decide to work the Continental Cast On method, 32” (80 cm) or 40” (100 cm) for the yoke.
2 Stitch holders, Waste Yarn x 2 (enough to cast on 12 sts for under arms), Markers. Plus Waste Yarn for Cast On for Collar if you decide to Bind Off in ICord.
I used US Size 1.5 (2.5mm) for the ICord bind off for Step #1 Collar c) option.
Gauge: BEFORE WASH: 6 sts/1” & 8 rounds/1” on US Size 4 (3.5mm) Knitting Needle in stockinette.
AFTER WASH/AIR DRIED ON TOWELS: 6 sts/1” & 8 rounds/1”.
Check your gauge before knitting. You may need to adjust your needle size.
READ ENTIRE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START!
MAKE SURE TO WASH YOUR SAMPLE BEFORE YOU START AS SOME YARNS SUCH AS SOME SUPER WASH AND ALPACA YARNS TEND TO GROW WHEN WASHED.
COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM 5-15%.
IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PLIES, TWIST AND / OR THE FIBER CONTENT.

Basic Pullover is seamless worked top down. ICord collar, and sleeve cuffs are optional.
Please note the ICord does make for a firmer edge. You could bind off in pattern if you prefer or any other bind off method. This Basic Pullover is intended to an everyday comfortable pullover.
