Pattern - Hat - Woodsman/Woman Hat - Super Fine Alpaca - Chunky - 2606

Materials: 1 skein Super Fine Alpaca - approx. 8 oz/ 590 yards

US Size 15 (10mm) & 11 (8mm) Circular Knitting Needles - 16” length & 

US Size 11 (8mm) DP Knitting Needles - 6” or 8” length for decreasing crown of hat.

Marker

Gauge: 17 sts/4”  (10cm) & 15  rounds/4” (10cm) on US size 11 (8mm) needles in pattern. 

NOTE: Check your gauge before you start as you may have to adjust needle size. Plus wash your sample before you start. Some yarns grow when washed. Especially if they are single stranded & soft spun.

I used 4 strands of the Super Fine Alpaca yarn held together as if it was a single strand. 

I used 5 oz/369 yards of the 8 oz 590 yard skein. 

You could use a chunky weight yarn, if you do you would need 109 yards of a chunky weight yarn.

If you want your Woodsman/Woman Hat warmer you could use 5 or 6 strands. You are the boss.

Woodsman/Woman hat fits heads 21-23” around head - height of hat is adjustable.

Techniques: Cast On, Bind Off, Knit, Purl, Knit 2 together, Knit 2 together through back loops, Purl, Purl 2 together, Wrap & Turn.
