Pattern - Hat - Matt's Hue* - SW Merino - DK - 2403
This Design is for my friend Matt. Matt LOVES color and texture. Figure this one may be the ticket. So Matt's Hue* - *a.k.a Hat, Cap, Kep take your pick.
It starts with ICord Cast On, some Lace, Rib, and finally Slip Stitch.
The Pattern is written for DK weight yarns. It comes with 2 sizes.
You could use any DK or Aran weight yarns as long as you get close to gauge - you could change needle size for gauge or if you want a different size.
Gauge: 25 sts/4" & 32 rounds/4" worked in Slip Stitch Pattern US Size 6 (4 mm) needles.
HAT SIZE:
Average: 20-22" around head & 16" bottom edge over crown of head to bottom edge covering the ears.
Large: 22-23 1/2" around head & 16" bottom edge over crown of head to bottom edge covering the ears.
You need: US Size 6 (4 mm) Double Pointed Needles for decreasing of the hat &
US Size 5 (3.75 mm) Circular Needles - 16" length &
US Size 6 (4 mm) Circular Needles - 24" length. Do NOT use a shorter length or your hat will be too small.
Marker.
2 skeins of any DK weight yarns in 2 different colors. Make sure you have a contrast or you will have a hard time working the Slip Stitch Pattern. You need very little of the Contrasting Color. but 1 full skein for either size for the Main Color.
