Pattern - Cowl - Double Twist Brioche Cowl - Fingering - 2509
Pattern is written for our Silky BFL yarn* or any Fingering Weight yarn.
This Brioche Cowl is amazingly soft, plus you have double layer of Brioche in Fingering weight yarn around your neck. You are not going to want to take it off ever.....
The double twist allows for the cowl to lay better.
Materials: I used 2 skeins Silky BFL - Fingering - in 2 different colors - approx. 3.5 oz/ 434 yards ea. You have enough for 2 - 3 cowls or making your cowl taller.
Each skein has approximately. 3.5 oz / 434 yards.
NOTE: Used approx. 1 oz or 125 yards of color 1 (C1) & approx. 1 oz 125 yards of color 2 (C2).
US Size 3 (3.25 mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 24” length. Marker.
Gauge: Before Wash: 6.5 sts/1” & 8 rounds/1” in Brioche Pattern on US size 3 (3.25mm) needles using my Silky BFL
After Wash: 5.5 sts/1” & 8 rounds/1” in Brioche Pattern on size 3 (3.25mm) needles.
Check your gauge before you start. Remember cowl grows by approx. 15% if you are using my Silky BFL.
Cowl size before wash: 4” tall x 37” around. Cowl size after wash: 4” tall x 42” around.
Work up a sample in the brioche pattern, if you want your cowl to be an exact size. Make sure to wash your sample before your start as your yarn selection may react differently than mine once it is washed.
