Pattern - Sweater - Scandinavian Two Pull Over 42-43" - Fingering - Fine Sport - 2303
Returning to my roots, I decided to make a more traditional Scandinavian Sweater, hence this roomy comfy sweater. I picked this amazingly soft yarn with cashmere, as I could envision living in this sweater the entire 6 months of winter.
The Pattern is written specifically for the Fine Merino/Nylon/Cashmere - Fingering - FINE SPORT. You can use any Fingering/Sport Weight yarn, as long as you get the gauge.
It's ONLY written for Bust/Chest Size: 42-43.
Pattern 2205 has 2 options Bust/Chest Size: 34-36" & 38-40" - Pattern 2205 has Swirls at the top this new version has the Sun Wheel. I did include the Swirl for the ones who prefer that motif at the top.
You need: US Size 1.5 (2.5mm) & 2.5 (3mm) Double Pointed Needles and
US Size 1.5 (2.5mm) & 2.5 (3mm) Circular Needles - 16" & 24" length, plus US Size US Size 2.5 (3mm) Circular Needle - 16" for collar & sleeves & 40" for Yoke.
NOTE: If you knit tighter on the 16" circular needles you may want to go up in needle size for the sleeves.
4 Stitch Holders & markers.
4 skeins of the Fine Merino/Nylon/Cashmere - Fingering - FINE SPORT for Main Color, or approximately 1700-1800 yards. 1 skein each of 2 contrasting colors, or approximately 400 yards each. 2 additional contrasting colors each approximately 40-65 yards.
GAUGE:
BEFORE WASH: 24 sts & 32 rounds on US Size 2.5 (3mm) knitting needle in stockinette stitch.
AFTER WASH: 23.6 sts & 32 rounds on on US Size 2.5 (3mm) knitting needle in stockinette stitch.
NOTE: I knit tighter on circular than straight needles back and forth.
PULLOVER SIZE:
Before wash: 42” Bust/Chest, 18” sleeves, 27” sweater length center front, 28" center back, cast on edge till under arms 17", 10” under arms till collar, 14” upper arm diameter, 6” cuff diameter.
After wash: 42-43” Bust/Chest, 18” sleeves, 27” sweater length center front, 28" center back, cast on edge till under arms 17", 10” under arms till collar, 14” upper arm diameter, 6” cuff diameter.
Scandinavian Two Pull Over grew very little - Yoke relaxed some.
This Pull Over is seamless with decreases in the yoke. One less decrease will give you a lower low neck line in the front, short rows in the back to increase the back 1- 1 1/2", ICord bind off on collar.
Entire Pull Over is worked bottom up, sleeves are added to body as they are done. So seamless, except for the 3 needle bind off for the under arm stitches or grafted via the kitchener stitch you are the boss.
