Materials: 1 skein Merino DK Singles - approx. 3.5 oz/218 yards & approx. 1 oz/65 yards leftovers in contrasting color, or 1 skein Fine Merino & Mulberry Silk - approx. 3.33 oz/218 yards & approx. 1 oz/65 yards leftovers in contrasting color, or ANY Light DK Weight yarn.

NOTE: You have enough yarn to make the brim (rib) taller for the person with a taller head.

US Size 6 (4 mm) DP Knitting Needles - 6” length & US Size 6 (4 mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 16” length & 24” length & US Size 5 (3.75 mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 16” length.

Marker, so you can keep track of each round.

Gauge in pattern BEFORE wash on US size 6 (4 mm) needles:

5 sts/1” & 10 rounds/1” (including the slipped rounds).

Gauge in pattern AFTER wash on US size 6 (4 mm) needles:

4 3/4 sts/1” & 9 rounds/1” (including the slipped rounds).

Head Size: 21-23” circumference (around head), you can make the hat taller by making the rib taller. This hat “hugs” your head comfortably.

If you do want a smaller version use smaller needles, for example: size 4 & 5.
