Pattern - Hat - Cable Brim Hat in DK Weight - 351

This Pattern is written specifically for the Merino DK Single Ply yarn, but you can use any DK weight yarn.

I also use this pattern for our Silk/Merino/Sea Cell yarn - even though it is considered worsted. See the photo with the Natural Cable Brim Hat.

HAT SIZE: 20-22” around head & 15-16” bottom edge over crown of head to bottom edge.

NOTE: You can change hat size: by either adding or decreasing length of cable section. Cable section is worked first and then joined via Kitchener stitch.

You pick up stitches along the top edge of the cable border, which will determine the circumference of the hat.

If you want it taller add rounds before you start the decreases, shorter work less rounds.

You can make this hat into a beret style by picking up extra stitches along the top edge of the cable border.

You need: US Size 6 Double Pointed Needles and

US Size 6 Circular Needle - 16" length. 

Waste yarn & marker.

1 skein of the Merino DK Single Ply, or any DK weight yarn.
