Pattern - Sweater - Basic Raglan - SUPER "Vams" in WORSTED & LACE - 2504

Pattern #2504     Chest/Bust: 34-36, 38-40, & 41-43”     

Fine Organic Merino - Worsted & Superfine Brushed Kid Mohair & Silk - Lace - held together as if it was 1 single strand. Or you could use Bulky yarn.         

Materials all sizes: 

2 skeins Fine Organic Merino - Worsted - each skein approx. 560 yards (515m)/ 8 oz (225g) &

1 skein Superfine Kid & Silk - Lace - each skein approx. 900 yards (825m)/ 4 oz (113g).

You will need extra skeins, if you plan on increasing the size of the Super ”Vams”  Sweater.  

I used approx. 800 yards for size 34-36”, 860 for size 38-40”, 900 yards for size 41-43”.

This pattern is a guide. You are the boss. Nothing is carved in stone.

US Size 7 (4.5mm) & US Size 10 (6mm) DP (double pointed) Knitting Needles for sleeves or 

2 circular 16” Knitting Needles.

US Size 7 (4.5mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 16” (40 cm) length for the collar & 24” (60 cm) or

32” (80 cm) for bottom edge border.

US Size 10 (6mm) Circular Knitting Needle - 24” (60 cm) length for the body,16” (40 cm) to cast on for collar if you decide to work the Continental Cast On method, 32” (80 cm) or 40” (100 cm) for the yoke.

2 Stitch holders, Waste Yarn x 2 (enough to cast on 10 sts for under arms), Markers. 

Gauge:  BEFORE WASH: 4 sts/1” & 5 rounds/1” on US Size 10 (6mm) Knitting Needle in stockinette.

AFTER WASH: 4 sts/1” & 5 rounds/1”. Body & sleeve length grew slightly after wash.

Check your gauge before knitting. READ ENTIRE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START!

Pattern: Instructions are for chest/bust size 34-36” (87-91cm),  38-40” (97-101cm), & 41-43” (104-109cm).

Larger sizes are in brackets ( ).

A - Bust Chest: 34-36, 38-40, 41-43”

B - Center front: 20”, 21”, 22”

C - Center back: 22”, 23”, 24”

D - Under arm till bottom of “Vams”: 13” ALL SIZES

E - Cuff to under arm: 16” ALL SIZES

F - Around upper arm: 15”, 16”, 18”

G - Around Cuff: 6”, 7”, 9” - THESE MEASUREMENTS ARE WITH ICORD BIND OFF. Note: Would be:  7”, 8”, 10” if you bind off in pattern.

Super “Vams” Sweater is seamless worked top down. ICord collar, and sleeve cuffs are optional. 

Please note the ICord does make for a firmer edge. You could bind off in pattern of your preference.

“VAMS” is Danish for Cozy Sweater!
