Pattern - Hat - Fisherman/Woman Hat - ARAN/MAMS or SW Merino - Bulky - 2006

This Pattern is written for 1 size - 21"-23" circumference (around head). Height of hat is adjustable.

This Pattern is written for the ARAN/MAMS & SW Merino - BULKY.

The ARAN - MAMS is a medium weight hat and the SW Merino - BULKY is a heavy hat.

Plus you can also use this pattern for our Super Fine Alpaca either double stranded or triple stranded, for either Aran weight or Bulky weight.

Both fits heads 21-23” around head - height of hat is adjustable.

Gauge: 16 sts/ 4" on US Size 9 circular needles in stockinette.

NOTE: My gauge is tighter on circular needles, than on single pointed needles.

You need: US Size 9 Double Pointed Needles  - 6" OR 8" and

US Size 7 Circular Needles - 16" length &

US Size 9 Circular Needles - 16" length 

1 Marker.

1 skein of the ARAN/MAMS or, 

2 skeins of the SW Merino - BULKY.

1 skein of Super Fine Alpaca Natural - either double or triple stranded for an amazingly soft and warm hat - or should I say cozy....

Techniques: Cast On, Bind Off, Knit, Purl, Knit 2 together, Knit 2 together through back loops, Wrap & Turn.
