Pattern - Sheep Sweater - BFL Sport or any Sport weight yarns - 2408

This Sheep Sweater Pattern is written specifically for Fleece Artist's BFL Sport yarn, but you can use any Sport weight yarn as long as you get close to gauge. 

The Yoke design will provide you with double strand at the upper chest where you need it the most. BFL is one of my favorite yarns to work with, as it holds its shape well. Plus it doesn't seem to pill as much.

This Pattern is ONLY written for Bust/Chest Size: 38-40 (97-102 cm) at this time, physical size is 41" (104 cm). There is 1-2" (2 1/2-5 cm) extra room.

You need: US Size 3 (3.25mm) & 4 (3.5 mm) Double Pointed Needles and

US Size 3 (3.25mm) & 4 (3.5mm) Circular Needles - 16" (40 cm), plus US Size US Size  4 (3.5mm) Circular Needle - 24" (60 cm), 32" (80 cm) & 40" (100 cm) for Yoke.

I use 2 x 16" (40 cm) US Size 4 (3.5mm) circular knitting needles for the sleeves.

If you knit your sleeves tighter than the rest of the sweater you may consider trying US Size 5 (3.75mm) for the sleeves.

2 Stitch Holders, waste yarn (enough to cast on 6 sts for each of the under arm stitches) & markers.

MAIN COLOR: 3 skeins Fleece Artist’s BFL Sport  - each skein approx. 361 yards (330m)/ 4.4 oz (125g) 100% Blue Face Leicester.

MC - Multi Colored I used approx. 1000 yards - I had 2.5 oz left or approx. 205 yards.

CONTRASTING COLORS: Minimum 2 skeins Fleece Artist’s BFL Sport in 2 different colors.

CC1 - Natural I used approx. 100 yards - I had 3.5 oz left or approx 287 yards.

CC2 - Blue I used approx. 120 yards - I had 3 oz left or approx. 246 yards.

CC3 - Red I used approx. 20 yards - I had 4.2 oz left or approx. 344 yards. You could use Natural color.

Instructions are for chest size 38-40” (97-102 cm) ONLY with a 1-2” (2 1/2 - 5cm) extra space.

Length:.center front 25” (63 1/2 cm) & center back 26” (66 cm). Upper arms 12 1/2” (32 cm). Cuffs 6” (15 cm).  Bottom edge of body to under arms 15 1/2” (39 1/2 cm).  Under arm to center front collar edge 9 1/2” (24 cm). Bottom Border around 38” (96 1/2”),

Sweater is seamless worked top down. ICord collar, bottom of body and sleeves are optional. Please note the ICord does make for a firmer edge. You could bind off in pattern of you prefer.
